TRADITIONAL SPACE-STAGE
STAGE
They say, what would you like to do, or where would you like work.
I think,Earth.
I'd like to work on Earth, third in from the sun.
Does the bear say, I work in this section of the forest.
Does the eagle say, I work in this part of space.
Does the shark say,I swim only here
I say, I want to eat and sleep and explore, like the bear and the eagle and the shark.
I want to speak like the wind and breath air
period. -P.Spiro

Seeking from the earth, the world at large, as a human, a spot to inhabit and the right to do so. The work is inspired by the Brooklyn Street Poet Peter Spiro “Work”
“Once in a while there is a man who won’t do what is demanded of him, and do you know what happens? The whole machine devotes itself coldly to the destruction of his difference. They’ll beat your spirit and your nerves, your body and your mind, with iron rods until the dangerous difference goes out of you. And if you can’t finally give in, they’ll vomit you up and leave you stinking outside—neither part of themselves nor yet free. It’s better to fall in with them. They only do it to protect themselves. A thing so triumphantly illogical, so beautifully senseless as an army can’t allow a question to weaken it.” J. Steinbeck (Grapes of Wrath)

Where Time, or the lack there of, meets memory, or the manipulation of. Inspired by Yehuda Amichai A Man Doesn’t have time, the work begins with this reflection before the world unfolds where there is a dark cloud upon the performers that is drawn from understanding and research on the psychological effect of gaslighting.
